SUBWAY ART 25TH BOOK SIGNING

CHECK IT OUT! rubbing shoulders with HENRY CHALFANT, MARTHA COOPER & "BLADE" in London, these snaps were taken yesterday at the Black Rat gallery to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the legendary book Subway Art! In 1984 Thames and Hudson made the brave decision to publish a book of photographs of graffiti covered trains from New York subways. The original print run was limited to only 5000 copies. Subway Art has been in print ever since and the then little known scene which Martha and Henry documented has gone on to be an international phenomenon, in part thanks to the book itself.

QUEUE FOR SHOES AS THE YEEZY DROPS!

Last Friday (29th May 2009), SHELFLIFE launched the KANYE WEST NIKE AIR YEEZY... and for the first time in South African history people lined up for their sneakers! The queue started outside SHELFLIFE STORE (in the cold and rain) around 2pm for what has been called the most hyped up sneaker since the first release of Jordan! The doors opened at 18:00PM and once each customer had a chance to purchase their own pair, they were invited to join the store staff, media and other VIP guests to dinner, drinks and a party in the restaurant below the store where things promptly got "a bit crazy" in true SHELFLIFE style!
